Blood Pressure Machine
Blood Pressure Machine
results have been proven to help employees measure and monitor vital heart statistics over time. Blood pressure measurements are divided into systolic and diastolic measurements. Oftentimes pulse measurements are also provided on a blood pressure machine.
What exactly is blood pressure? Blood pressure is the force per unit area exerted by circulating blood on the blood vessels. Arterial blood pressure is usually measured using a sphygmomanometer. Sphygmomanometers use the height of a column of mercury to reflect the circulating pressure. Blood pressure values are reported in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Although aneroid and electronic devices do not use mercury, the actual measurement is still reported in millimeters of mercury.
Systolic blood pressure is the peak pressure in the arteries which occurs at the beginning of the cardiac cycle. Diastolic blood pressure is the minimum pressure in the arteries, which occurs at the end of the cardiac cycle. Blood pressure levels are constantly changing within the body. Stress, nutrition, exercise, drugs, and other factors can have major influence upon blood pressure. Hypertension refers to arterial blood pressure unusually high.
Blood pressure machine usage has become increasingly higher as individuals and corporations have become more aware of the relationship between blood pressure and cardio-vascular diseases. By monitoring blood pressure, individuals become less likely to have catastrophic heart events such as a heart attack. Lower blood pressure is also statistically linked to longer life and lower medical claims utilization.
