Stress Busters Challenge Helps Members Take Detailed Stress Inventory
February 1, 2009
Looking for a new Challenge to add to your company’s wellness program? We may have just what you were looking for. Challenges are an integral part of our wellness programs here at Kersh Risk Management. We have received numerous emails and phone calls from our members requesting that we continue to add to our available Challenges such as Break for Breakfast, Make the Switch, Hold the Stuffing.
We are happy to hear that our members are enjoying our Challenges so much, and thus excited to announce our newest Challenge called “Stress Busters Challenge”. This new Challenge is the most robust Challenge that we have created so far. The Stress Busters Challenge includes six unique and different sections, including: Overview, About, Symptoms, Survey, Management, and Bingo.
In the Overview section, members learn about what stress is and what affect stressors can have on our bodies. The About section breaks stress down into four different categories of stressors such as physical, emotional, mental, and behavioral. The Symptoms section provides information on how members can tell if they are experiencing stress and where their stress might be coming from. The Survey section includes our Stress Inventory Survey, an independently validated survey that provides members with a score of how susceptible they are to a stress induced illness in the next two years. Members who score between 0-149 have a relatively low amount of life change and susceptibility to stress induced illness. Members who score between 150 and 299 have a 50% chance and members who score over 300 have an 80% chance of getting a stress induced illness in the next two years.
The Management section provides various stress busting ideas such as taking a breath or going on a walk that can help members cope with and reduce their stress. Finally, the Bingo section is a fun section that allows members to choose an activity each day to help them identify and reduce their stress. Activities such as “Get More Sleep”, “Ride a Bike”, “Go for a Swim”, and “Meditate” help members think of new ways of handling stressful situations.
The Stress Busters Challenge is available in both paper and online format, so every member can participate! We would like to thank all of our valuable members for suggesting some new and innovative Challenges for 2009. Be on the lookout for more innovative and inspiring Challenges this year!
