How Does Telehealth Work?

The Kersh Health Station was built with the future in-mind. Using the built-in webcam and microphone, Health Stations are now able to act as virtual conference rooms for corporate wellness participants to hold one-on-one health consultations.

Health Station Upgrade:

This new service offering is available as an upgrade for companies who wish to expand the capabilities of their Health Stations and implement a value-added service for their employees.

Telehealth

is currently being used throughout North America with Registered Dieticians as a nutrition and weight-loss corporate wellness intervention. Other health professionals such as Medical Doctors and Health Advocates are available via Telehealth upon request.

With Telehealth, members can work with a health professional on an individual basis to improve nutrition goals, create custom diets, and learn more about how to improve your overall well-being. This service offering is ideal for companies that do not currently have health professionals on staff or have multiple satellite locations that cannot regularly work with medical officers.

In order to use the new Telehealth offering, your company must request this service by contacting a Kersh Account Manager.

Starting a Telehealth Session

Telehealth is accessible in “Step 3” of the Health Station interface. Once enabled, users will automatically be brought to the Telehealth section after they take their blood pressure and weight. To begin, press the “Enable Video” button located on the right-hand side of the screen under “Your Camera”. This will enable your webcam and microphone. You will also be able to see a live camera feed of yourself as shown below.

Engaging in Telehealth

Once a Telehealth conferencing session has begun, members can converse with the health professional for personalized health consultation. Members can receive dietary guidance, ask personal health questions, set goals, and receive personal health advice. Once the session is completed, simply touch the “Continue” button to access other areas of the Health Station interface.

Additional Telehealth Applications

If Telehealth is a service that is available for your company, members will also be able to access an additional Telehealth page from the Kersh Wellness website. After logging into the website, a “Telehealth” icon will appear on the left-hand side of the screen under “Services”. Clicking on this icon will launch a special application that: allows members to Learn About Telehealth, take a Telehealth Assessment, and Schedule a TeleHealth Appointment. The information in the Telehealth Assessment will help members set health goals that can help them as they work with their health professional. The screenshot below includes questions that are available for members working with a Registered Dietician. The last part of the screenshot (Step 3), provides members with information on their next appointment. If they wish to change their appointment with a health professional, this can be done by clicking on the “Change Appointment” button.
