Employees Health

Employees health (or the health of employees) is a primary concern for employers in the United States, Canada, and throughout the world. In order to improve employees health, it is necessary to first understand why health is failing around the globe, especially in more developed countries.

Why is employees health failing? The health of employees is failing in part because of behaviorally modifiable risk factors such as poor nutrition, obesity, sedentary lifestyles, smoking, stress, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

What can be done to improve employees health? To improve employees health, change must be implemented at the source of the root problem. In order to properly assess where your employee population is suffering from poor health habits, it may be beneficial to have your employees take a Health Risk Assessment (HRA), also known as Health Risk Appraisal. A Health Risk Assessment is a questionnaire that identifies risk factors from each of the major health categories. Health Risk Assessments can also be used in conjunction with Health Screenings, also known as Biometric Testing. Health Screenings are usually performed at the worksite and take less than 15 minutes to complete. During the health screening process, employees health is measured for blood pressure, weight, HDL, LDL, cholesterol, and triglycerides. Data from Health Screenings and Health Risk Assessments can be correlated together in order to produce personalized employees health reports for each participant.

By implementing Health Screenings and Health Risk Assessments, employers are armed with tools to improve employees health and their bottom line for medical care. To learn more about how to improve employees health, please fill out our free wellness proposal today!
